Rising towards an everted rim, the bulging sides painted with a continuous band of bajixiang flowers beneath a series of Buddhist emblems along the exterior TOGETHER WITH a 20th Century ceramic bowl with double crane interior. Wood stands

Beginning in the 1930’s and continuing until Robert Murray’s death in 1998, the Bells were dedicated and enthusiastic collectors, forming one of Toronto’s finest collections of Chinese works of art. Following Murray’s death, under Ann’s careful stewardship, the majority of the Bell’s collection was generously donated to the permanent collections at the Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art in Toronto.
