Of tusk form, the sides with impressive openwork to showcase the three star gods ‘fu lu shou’ on one side, and the Hehe twins and another wise sage on the other, the design includes longevity deer, sacred lingzhi fungus, pine trees, magpies and peony blooms. The large wood base painted black with nice openwork carving of a sage, a young boy and rolling horse, amongst a large prunus tree

From the Estate of Dr. John Thoburn Williamson, a Canadian geologist who acquired the carving in Hong Kong during the 1950’s. Thence by decent within the family.
