Still very young and fresh, with great concentration and balance. Opens with discreet but rich aromas of crème brûlée and coffee, then moves to sweet honey and spice flavors backed by firm acidity. Finishes long and with a teasing bitterness that draws you back for more. Enjoy. Wine Spectator 97/100;
Wow. This '97 auslese almost overpowers the sensory receptors with its succulent, pure aromas and flavors of peach, apple and slate, rapierlike acidity and brilliant clarity. But it's never too much, as it remains balanced and harmonious all the way through. Drink now. Wine Spectator 93/100;
A softer style, with tropical fruit—pineapple, orange, apricot—coursing throughout. Firms up on the finish, but lacks a bit of cohesion. A mineral accent graces the lingering finish. Drink now through 2020. Wine Spectator 93/100
