“I’m interested in the bigger conversation around arts education”

- Cyndy Chwelos -

Cyndy Chwelos received her B.F.A. from the University of Saskatchewan in 1983. Interested in education, she completed her Early Childhood Certification from Vancouver Community College in 1998 and her M.A. (art education/curriculum studies) in 2004 from the University of British Columbia in 2004. She works as the Program Co-ordinator for Catalyst for Change, a residency program that brings artists into classrooms to explore social justice issues, through the creation and discussion of works of art. Chwelos also teaches a class in Arts, Culture and Heritage at Langara College, which exposes the students to the spectrum of arts programming offered in the field of recreation.
