Provenance:

Waddington’s Auctioneers, Toronto, November 1997, Lot 1233

Exhibited:

Canada House, UK, 2010

Note:

In addition to his haunting boat migration scenes, Joe’s carvings documented traditional Inuit life as in this hunting scene. With a carving style completely his own, he had an innate ability to bring sophistication to what at first glance could be perceived as naïve.

Known for both graphics and sculpture, Talirunili was most prolific during the last 15 years of his life.
