Lot Report

Provenance:

David Mirvish Gallery, Toronto.
The Members’ Gallery, Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York.
Private Collection, Oregon.

Note:

Using paint and an ink stamp, the artist records the words of his protagonists or “confessors” upon painted wood. The block letters are somewhat veiled by yellow and green pigments which create a screen over the text. Through a story composed of fragments, the artist reveals the sentiments of those closest to him, providing the viewer with a fascinating window into his world.
